The Robin's Nest

ABOUT
The Robin's Nest | Aimee
My name is Aimee, and I live on a narrowboat, aptly named The Robin’s Nest, based on the Ashby Canal in rural Leicestershire with my scruffy dog, Jingle. I create needle felt bird sculptures from my floating home, along with an array of other little felted creations, from bumble bees to butterflies. I teach workshops at a local venture which offers an array of rural crafts and experiences. I have been needle felting since 2003 and began selling my creations after giving up work due to health issues (I suffer from CFS/ME).
Needle felting is the art of sculpting wool into 3D shapes using a special barbed needle, which binds the fibres together. Each bird begins life as a ball of wool roving. My birds can take from 5 to 10 hours to make, with love being poured into each and every one.
