I’m Vicky North, a cook and food writer based in West Wales where I make high quality kitchen clothing that’s cut for women who love to cook.
Bird Kitchen Clothing was inspired by my time at my own café-bistro. I couldn’t find comfortable clothes to cook in: the aprons were either too bulky, too long or too frumpy. And chef’s jackets – they just weren’t made with women in mind. So, working closely with former Toast designer, Nicola Ridd-Davies, we rethought the apron and came up with some beautiful solutions. Our clothing is designed to make women feel great when they’re cooking, whether at home or at work.
All our aprons, tunics and jackets are made in the UK with organic material. My philosophy simply boils down to: women supporting women, real food, quality and design. It’s about more than aprons. It’s about the community we’re building together.
